All ages - no cover charge - but buy a coffee; it's the best in town.
I expect to play the Bare Foot Open Mic every Thursday evening for the next couple months. After that, I'll start playing other venues - and on other nights - all around Silicon Valley, with Berkeley, San Francisco and Santa Cruz to follow.

I'm afraid I won't be playing at the Fair Trade Country Cafe much any more as I moved to Vancouver to take a job as a Macintosh programmer with a software company there. After a year in Vancouver, I returned to my home state of California to work for a company in Silicon Valley.
I will return to play at the Fair Trade every few months, as my wife Bonita remained behind in Nova Scotia. She has a year left to go before she graduates from art school in Halifax. Each time I visit, I'll be sure to send word to the cafe ahead of time so they can let you know I'll be playing.
Geometric Visions
It was a tough decision, and it's hard on both of us to be so far apart, but it's for the best as my self-employment as a software consultant was a hard, hard way to live. My new job is with a good company with good people, and they're paying me really well, enough to solve a lot of problems my wife and I have.

If you live in the Santa Cruz or San Francisco Bay areas, Watch This Space for my live performance schedule. I'll be playing open mics, and soon, for the first time ever, I'll be playing on the street as a busker.

Before I moved out West, I used to appear weekly at the Open Mic at the Fair Trade Country Cafe in Truro, Nova Scotia. I played the piano, with selections from my album Geometric Visions, as well as some classical and jazz pieces.
Because my CD has a Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 2.5 license, you're welcome to burn copies for your friends.
If you can't make one of my shows, you're welcome to download my music. You could really help me out if you shared it over the Internet.
(Back when I was appearing at the Fair Trade, I gave away about five hundred free copies of my CD. Eventually Ray Merriam, the cafe's manager, convinced me to sell them instead. But I gave away my CD in part to get more people listening to my music, a goal which I'm finding is not served by selling my album. I'm going to ask Ray to go back to giving them away for Free, and will ship them up from California.)
